The prestressed joist
The joist is the flooring's support. It is installed with clay or concrete in
filler blocks. On top of this system you cast on site a 5-7 cm compression slab.
For heavy concentrated loads, the joists can be doubled or tripled.
BİLTON produce a complete range
-there using BS45 special design, high resistance concrete and low relaxation, high performances prestressing wires to producing of joist.
-
the RS110 : 16 kg per linear metre up to 7 m. 40% lighter than other types of
joists offered by competitors.
- the RS 130 : 20 kg per linear metre and spans up to 5 m without props
(polystyrene blocks), 9m with props.
- the reinforced RS : joists with passive reinforcement (for wide spans, layout
without props, heavy loads.

Processes
10 years' experience and production have enabled BİLTON to gain a leading edge and to offer you the best in concrete technology. The company has thus developed a series of patented manufacturing processes which are continually improved to achieve significant gains in productivity, while maintaining irreproachable product quality standards.
Striving for optimum
performance has allowed BİLTON to come up with an exclusive process the
carrousel. A unique production system making it possible to manufacture
prestressed and reinforced concrete products, standard or customized,
simultaneously on the same production line (European patent).
At the same time, The long Bench process, for manufacturing cast prestressed
concrete products has been continually improved due to patented technological
innovations, thus guaranteeing that we achieve our objective in terms of product
quality.
A proof that BİLTON has now taken this technological lead lies in the fact that
it is currently the most frequently used trademark in Turkey when it comes to
constructing joist floorings. Joining up with the AAS group has made it possible
to pursue this product innovation strategy, in particular with the development
of a new joist launched in 1999, which offers exceptional mechanical
performance, and handling qualities.
The Long Bench
Especially designed to
produce prestressed concrete elements, this manufacturing process is based on
the use of a large metal mould placed on a concrete structure called " Bench ".
The bench is fitted at each end with devices used to tighten the steel
armatures. The concrete infrastructure will support the prestressing forces.
This process makes it possible to :
- use modules sized according to the desired type of production
- produce large volumes
- obtain entirely moulded products with concrete or baked clay undersides as
required
The five main production stages
- preparation of the moulds with tensioning of the prestressing steel armatures
- concreting and vibrating
- curing under isothermic cover (using any power source)
- relaxing of the prestressing steel armatures
- stripping
